Detectives Seeking Public’s Help in Church Vandalism

Mason District Station – Detectives are asking for the public’s help to solve a series of recent breaks-ins and destruction of property cases at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located at 8922 Little River Turnpike in Annandale. During one of the break-ins, a member of the church was assaulted with a fire extinguisher. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives also found graffiti that included racial and religious slurs while investigating the most recent break-in this morning. Each case is actively being investigated and detectives are following up on all leads. There have been seven different cases, and detectives are working to determine if they’re linked:

  • May 11 – Burglary
  • May 16 – Destruction of Property
  • May 18 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • May 21 – Burglary, Simple Assault
  • June 3 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • June 4 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
  • June 26 – Burglary, Destruction of Property
