Crime Solvers Seeks Suspect in Craigslist Larceny

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who stole a cell phone from a person who advertised the phone on Craigslist. The victim placed an ad to the website to sell an iPhone 6 and the suspect agreed to meet the victim on Tuesday, August 4, around 2:10 p.m., at a Starbucks, located at 8068 Rolling Road.

The suspect and victim met inside the store and briefly discussed the phone and its price. When the victim looked away, the suspect snatched the phone off the table and ran out of the store. The victim gave chase but the suspect was able to enter a waiting dark-gray-colored Mercedes Benz C-300. The car fled from the parking lot, northbound on Rolling Road.

Surveillance video inside the store captured the suspect purchasing a drink prior to the victim’s arrival. Detectives are hopeful someone will recognize this man. Visit our YouTube page and watch the video. He was described as either Hispanic or Pacific Islander, around ?? years old. He was about 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and glasses that had a green/yellow tint.
